The project aims at the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative technological and social services to improve individual outdoor mobility among community dwelling older adults in three residential quarters of the Nuremberg metropolitan region (EMN moves; funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research).
The project involves a three year longitudinal study following two methodological approaches: (1) objective assessment of demands and accessibility problems in the physical environment, (2) assessment of individual mobility and personal determinants related to the use of technological and social services.
First results show the relationship between outdoor mobility, physical functioning and environmental demands of the three structural different quarters.
Project term: 11/2011 to 12/2014
